According to official news from West Ham, Moyes’ contract expires at the end of this season and he will leave the team.
Moyes will leave after the season after four and a half years in charge of West Ham. He has led the team to the top seven of the Premier League twice and won the European Cup last season. This is West Ham’s first FA Cup since 1980. The first major championship after the Cup, and also the team’s first European trophy since 1965.
Moyes, 61 years old, is a Scottish coach who has coached Everton, Manchester United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland, and West Ham. Moyes briefly coached West Ham in 2017, but his contract was not renewed after the season. In December 2019, West Ham hired Moyes again as the team’s coach. So far, he has led the team in 228 games and achieved a record of 102 wins, 43 draws and 83 losses. Moyes led West Ham to score 65 points in the 2020/21 season, ranking sixth in the Premier League, the best record in team history. In the 2022/23 season, Moyes led the team to win the European Cup, ending West Ham’s 43-year championship drought and the first major championship in his coaching career.
